Sri.B.V.Rao did his M.Sc(Tech) from Regional Engineering College Warangal presently known as NIT, Warangal and passed out in 1981.

He started his carrier with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Korwa Division. Subsequently he worked in various organisations in India and abroad namely Defense Research and Development Organisation, Ordnance Factory Board, Bharat Electronics Ltd, AVIMO Electro-optics Ltd, Singapore, Programme Air Defense, Electro-Optical Instruments Research Academy , Israel Aerospace Industries, Israel and Naval Science and Technological Laboratory, Visakhapatnam.

He worked on Laser Ranger and marked target seeker for Jaguar Aircraft, Thermal Imaging Systems, Fire control Systems for T-72 tanks, Night Vision Systems, Laser based Weapon systems, Eye Safe Laser Range finder, Imaging Infra-red Seekers for Air Defense Missiles, RLG based Inertial Navigation Systems, Surface to Air Missiles and Stealth Technology.

He is the pioneer in development of Eye Safe Laser Range Finder.

He is the recipient of DRDO Award “ Outstanding Technology Development and Path Breaking Research”

He did prestigious “National Defense College Course “ and entitled use the symbol “ndc”

He also did General Management Program from IIM, Bangalore.

At present he is Consultant and Technical Adviser to Bharat Dynamics Ltd, Hyderabad and guiding the team for development of Imaging Infra Red Seeker for short range Anti Tank Guided Missile.

In pursuit of serving nation he started his own startup company “Sarvagnya Energies” which manufactures Micro PVC pipes at Growth Centre, APIIC , Bobbili.
